Leading Team Wellbeing With Confidence

Confident leaders self reflect, are self aware and continuously self regulate enabling them to be proactive in times of challenge.

What does this have to do with wellbeing? Everything.

Why Wellbeing Matters

If you feel well, you work well. If you feel well, you lead well. Done right, wellbeing can be a foundation for a high-performing team.

Being a confident leader has never been more critical than it is now and can determine whether the outcome of challenging events is regression or reinvention. It has also never been harder to put yourself and your wellbeing first, and help others do the same.

True confidence, born out of understanding of one’s own abilities and limitations, reduces stress and anxiety for yourself, and for those you lead.

What Can You Do About It?

The good news is, confidence is something we can develop and build. Every journey begins with a single step and the journey to confidence is no different.

At Innerfit, we approach leading wellbeing with two overarching perspectives.

The first is, counterintuitively, to put yourself first. Focus on:

  • Self-reflection
  • Self-awareness
  • Self-regulation

As an example, consider self-reflection. If you ake the time to reflect at the end of the day, you allow yourself the space to digest the day and take stock. It is also a chance to begin re-training your brain to notice and focus on positives and achievements, this could be as simple as writing down the positives every day. A positive mindset equips you to overcome every challenge.

Having put yourself first, the second step is to help your team. Focus on:

  • The Group
  • The Individual

If you want to understand what this looks like and how to apply it to your team, then join us at the Wellbeing @ Work Summit on Thursday 5th November.
